Customized Solutions

Client satisfaction is our No. 1 goal because we rely on our clients for references and return work.  We have no minimum scope requirements as we have the resources to handle both large and small jobs.  We provide personalized solutions customized to your specific needs.

A S Klein Engineering, PLLC is a professional engineering firm founded in 2013 after a need was identified in the western United States for code consultation and advocacy.  Headquartered in the beautiful Tri-Cities in eastern WA, we are proud to share our geography with offices of many of the world’s leading research and engineering firms.

Originally planning to exclusively offer design review and code consulting services for high-hazard occupancies, A S Klein Engineering, PLLC quickly earned an equally-respected reputation as energy experts.  Projects on which we have successfully consulted range in size from small tenant improvements to $8B semiconductor plants.

Andrew Klein, P.E., CEM is the principal of A S Klein Engineering, PLLC.  Prior to forming his own firm, Andrew worked for six years as a Process Engineer responsible for the design validation of a $12 billion nuclear waste treatment plant.  Andrew’s broad responsibilities ranged from nuclear safety to environmental permitting and nearly everything in between.  Andrew serves on two National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) committees and one International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) committee.  He is actively involved in the code development process of the International Code Council (ICC), the developer of the I-Codes, and is also a professional member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

Andrew Klein earned his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Delaware and his Master of Engineering & Technology Management from Washington State University.  Andrew is a dually-licensed Professional Engineer (ChE & FPE) in Washington State, a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) through the AEE, and one of a select few individuals worldwide who has earned the ICC-certified Energy Code Specialist designation.
